Ok, so it is true after all! The next line of Intel Graphics Media Accelerators, starting with the X3000 support SM 4.0 and DirectX 10! WTF?
And these people claim they're making cards for mainstream users, not people who tend to waste their lives making and playing games... sheesh...
The benchmarking results speak an entirely different result though. It is apparent that the onboard requirements of the GMA, in terms of power consumption and heat generation prevent it from truly competing with the best, even the GeForce 7000 series blows it away.
Another queer thing - the 2-pipe GeForce 6150 actually beats the 8-pipe X3000 in 3dmark06, again surprising given the fact that the 6150 comes with an AMD package and lacks the shine of the Core 2 Duo, which should definitely have given the Intel GMA an edge.
DirectX 10? Hmmmm...
